Volunteering New Zealand runs an online mentoring programme for volunteer managers.
The 2026 programme is for members of Volunteering New Zealand.
We know that to support volunteer managers is to grow volunteering. Our mentoring programme also offers peer support for volunteer managers. Potential mentees have a discussion with the Programme Coordinator to establish their aims for mentoring before being matched with a mentor.
The 2026 programme will run from April to September 2026. Mentees meet with their mentor online once a month, for six months.
Participants gain great benefits from mentoring including:
- Increased effectiveness by developing leadership skills, knowledge and confidence
- A great career development opportunity for both mentees and mentors
- A rewarding, fulfilling volunteer experience for mentors
- Support for mentees to help identify personal development priorities
- Improved networks and connections with leaders in the community sector
- Opportunities to meet and connect with other participants throughout the programme, sharing learnings and ideas
- Ongoing support from the Programme Coordinator
