On behalf of our friends and volunteers who contribute to the New Zealand Search and Rescue sector we are sharing a message to support them. During the response to COVID-19 Alert Level 4 Lockdown, their message is simple and really important. “Staying home saves lives”. Coastguard New Zealand, AREC, Surf Life Saving New Zealand and LandSAR New Zealand are powered by a workforce that is 98 percent volunteers. We need to protect these volunteers from unneccessary call outs. Please follow their request.
