During the March and April lockdowns, we worked closely with the Volunteer Centre Network and the National Crisis Management Centre as part of our efforts we all made in the fight against COVID-19!  During that period a series of guidelines were issued centrally by the National Crisis Management Centre and New Zealand Government.

  • On behalf of our friends and volunteers who contribute to the New Zealand Search and Rescue sector we are sharing a message to support them. During the response to COVID-19 Alert Level 4 Lockdown, their message is simple and really important. “Staying home saves lives”. Coastguard New Zealand, AREC, Surf Life Saving New Zealand and LandSAR New Zealand are powered by a workforce that is 98 percent volunteers. We need to protect these volunteers from unneccessary call outs. Please follow their request.
